Good Questions, Honest Answers

Everything Abilene neighbors usually want to know before their first visit — and if we missed one, just call.

What areas around Abilene do you serve?

We're based in Abilene (79601) and cover about a 20-mile reach. That includes the whole city, from north Abilene and the ACU area to the Sayles Boulevard neighborhoods, the homes around Dyess and the newer subdivisions on the south side, plus Wylie, Potosi, Tye, Merkel, Clyde, Buffalo Gap, Hawley, Impact and the homes around Lake Fort Phantom Hill. If you're just past that line, call and ask; for a bigger list we can usually make the trip.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. For most jobs a few photos and a short phone call are enough for a firm price. Bigger or less predictable jobs get a free in-person look. Either way, you'll have a clear number before anything is put on the schedule.

Do you charge by the hour or by the job?

We price by the job whenever we can, so you know the total before we start. For open-ended punch-list days we agree on a rate and a rough scope together so nothing surprises you. If a job goes quicker or simpler than expected, the price moves in your favor.

Are your pros licensed and insured?

Yes. The work is done by insured local pros who hold the licenses and registrations required in Texas for the job at hand, so electrical and plumbing connections are handled by licensed tradespeople. Ask us anything before we start.

What kinds of jobs do you take on?

The everyday repair and upkeep list: drywall and plaster patches, door adjustments, TV and shelf mounting, furniture assembly, ceiling fans and light fixtures, dimmers, smart switches and hardwired doorbells, faucet, toilet, disposal and supply line repairs and replacements, fence and gate fixes, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, paint touch-ups, garage storage, smart thermostats and seasonal maintenance. Send the whole list, small items included, and we'll plan one visit around it.

Can you help after a hail or wind storm?

Yes, with the repairs that fall to a handyman. After a spring storm we replace dented or split gutters and downspouts, re-hang gates and replace fence boards and pickets that blew out, swap cracked exterior light fixtures, patch dented trim and fix screens. If your roof or siding needs an insurance claim, we can document what we see with photos and handle the smaller items while the roofer handles the roof.

Can you get my house ready for a hard freeze?

That's one of the most useful visits we do, and most Abilene homeowners remember February 2021. We insulate exposed hose bibs and outdoor pipes, check that the main water shutoff turns and that you know where it is, seal drafts around doors and windows, swap failed weatherstripping, and look at the pipes in exterior walls, garages and crawlspaces under pier-and-beam homes. It takes an afternoon and can save a lot of grief.

We're stationed at Dyess and moving soon. Can you help with move-out repairs?

Yes, and it's a common request in Abilene. Before a move we patch nail and anchor holes, take down TV mounts and shelves, touch up paint, fix doors and blinds, replace burned-out fixtures and clear the small items a landlord or buyer's inspection will flag. Tell us your move date and we'll schedule around it, including quick turnarounds when orders come in fast.

Can I just text you a photo of the problem?

Please do. One close-up and one wider shot from across the room usually tell us what we need: what the job is, what materials to bring and roughly how long it will take. Often that's enough for a firm price without a separate trip to look.
